If you ever get stack smashing hissy fits and GPU processes coredumping with #GoogleChrome / #Chromium not launching as a result, try passing --ozone-platform=wayland in the terminal if you use #Ubuntu or any other #Linux distro with #Wayland:

google-chrome --ozone-platform=wayland

(Or chromium --ozone-platform=wayland if you use Chromium instead of full-fat Chrome.)
